View ringAmethyst ranges from deep violet to soft lilac pink, and every GemRings! amethyst ring is set in 925 sterling silver, so the cool metal lets the purple do the talking. Here is how we like to wear them.
Let one statement piece lead. The oval amethyst of the Amethyst Bow ring (approx. 6 ct) or the pink amethyst cushion ring (approx. 10 ct) is enough on its own, so wear it alone or with one thin silver band. For an everyday stack, start with the slim Amethyst Trilogy ring (three 0.45 ct stones in a row) and add a plain band or a small halo on the next finger. The halo styles, with a ring of smaller amethysts around the centre stone, add sparkle without needing extra rings.
Purple looks best against grey, navy, black, cream and denim. Pink amethyst softens blush, white and beige outfits. Wear the trilogy and halo styles to the office or for brunch. Save the bow, marquise and cushion rings for dinners, weddings and evenings out.
Mix amethyst with other cool tones, such as clear cubic zirconia, sky blue topaz or rose quartz. For contrast, a single green stone such as peridot works well.
Put your ring on after perfume and lotion, and keep it out of strong sunlight for long periods, because amethyst colour can fade over time. Store it in its gift box and polish the silver with a soft cloth. For more, see our sterling silver care guide.
